revoke Westboro Baptist Church's 501 (c)(3) provision, allowing them to be a tax exempt organization.

Created by N.C. on January 18, 2013

The Westboro Baptist Church, headed by the infamous Fred Phelps, is classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which allows this HATE GROUP to be exempt on their taxes. This is rather odd, when you think about it, since part of the 501(c)(3)/nonprofit deal is that churches must accept restrictions on political engagement.

If a church seems to operate for mostly nonreligious purposes (i.e., political work or personal profit), the IRS can revoke 501(c)(3) status.

They spend their protests denying human rights just because a person is different.

It's 2013. I think it's finally time to recognize WBC as a hate group, and not a religious organization, considering I've never heard of any "good" they bring to society in their 58 year history.
