Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP):
affects benefits paid by Social Security. It reduces the amount of a person's retirement based on a job that did not contribute to Social Security. (police, fire, postal).
Unfortunately a lot of these employees worked part-time jobs, or held down a 2nd full time job and DID pay into Social Security and they are not getting the full amount due to them that they should.
They are entitled to FULL social security wages IF they paid into Social Security, it's their money.
It was put into effect in 1983 and should be revoked. This is not fair to people that have paid enough in and earned enough credits to have their social security reduced to at least 1/2.
