Whatever your beliefs about gun control are, the entire nation can benefit from expanding and clarifying the 2nd Amendment. It is only two lines long and and has been subject to dramatically different interpretations. Once settled, the rights clarified under the reworked amendment will be much harder to infinge upon, and government entities will have more clearly defined capabilites to effectively manage safe firearm distribution. This will reduce the amount of time and funds used in national debate and reduce lobbying influence on congress. Since the change would have to be ratified by the states, all interests will be well represented.
