Each year, while five to seven million dogs suffer and sit in shelters, roughly 500,000 puppies are being sold in pet stores. Many puppies from these “farms” come to the pet store severely diseased or infected with nasty rashes and illnesses due to the lack of professional veterinary care, lack of shelter, and lack of proper nutrition. Some puppies even develop fearful or angry behaviors, such as aggressiveness towards all people and shyness.
Sign this petition to destroy this cruel exploitation of “man’s best friend.” If these gentle dogs are really our best friends, why treat them this way? Refuse to purchase dogs from a pet store; your new best friend could already be waiting for you inside a shelter. Adopt, don’t shop.
