American politicians are corruptible, with many of them, big or small listening first to wealthy lobbyists than to the people they represent. We the People are supposed to have a voice in our legislative body, yet politicians listen (and receive money and reelection funds) from wealthy corporations and individuals who use their vast fortunes to make sure their interests, and theirs alone are carried out. Corporations are lobbying far too much, Coca Cola spent about 7 million on lobbying alone in 2013, McDonalds spent well over 2 million on lobbying. These corporations should not be permitted to essentially bribe politicians to protect their interests, not the American people's. We must stand strong as a nation to stop corporations from exerting influence and corrupting our politics.
