The face value of a penny is $0.01 but the actual value of the metals is $0.02. That is double what it is worth. During 2012 the government had a loss of $58 million producing the penny. It is time to get rid of it completely or use metals that are drastically cheaper. With such a horrible deficit we should not be wasting this money.
