We petition the Executive Branch and the Federal Government in general to make it a priority to ban military grade weaponry from our communities. Such weapons as: assault rifles, grenades, armor piercing rounds, high power handguns and hand guns in general etc, are not needed by the ordinary citizen. Due to the fact that their communities are serviced by a well maintained police force and fully prepared armed forces for their protection.
One does not require these weapons to effectively "hunt" for game.
This is NOT a petition to remove the 2nd Amendment, this is a petition to redefine what the 2nd Amendment means in our day and age. The 2nd Amendment was written for a time when the U.S. did not have a permanent standing army and required a citizens' militia for protection.
