The right to collect unemployment and health insurance during a sexual harassment investigation in the workplace.

Created by A.K. on December 11, 2013

Workers should have the right to collect unemployment and health insurance benefits when the claimant is missing work due to a sexual harassment investigation being conducted by the Michigan Department of Civil rights and / or the EEOC. Currently, the worker is forced to stay home and miss work, traumatized and without any income or benefits when the investigation runs far past any saved up PTO or vacation time or fmla leave. The worker eventually also looses health insurance benefits. This leaves the worker broken, depressed and impoverished and unable to to ode for their family all because they were tortured at work. These investigations can go on for years! How is that fair to the person who was harassed or assaulted?
