The Right To Protect Ourselves From The Government

President Obama, it has come to my attention that you plan to ban all military assault type weapons. You also plan to ban all magazines that hold more than ten rounds.
We the People find this absolutely absurd, and a violation of our rights to own guns. Guns have been in our country since the very beginning, why do we just have to ban them now? It is not about the horrific mass shootings, it is the fact the United States government wants to control the people. Americans do not want guns to hurt others, but to protect themselves from you. Do not punish the majority for the wrong doings of the few. Gun control leads to other bans and more government control, this is the land of the free not the home of Communism. Just remember you work for the American people, you do not own them.
