Congress has not voted for an increase in the minimum wage since 1991. In that time they have voted themselves THIRTEEN pay increases. Since they obviously have no care or concern for average Citizens trying to make a living wage in this economy and only care for their own pocketbooks, the best way to ensure that they do right by the People of the United States is to make it to in their own self-interests to do so. Hence, I propose that their self-instigated pay increases be voided and returned to what they were the last time they voted to increase the minimum wage. I further propose that all future pay increases be tied, via 2 to 1 percentages favoring worker pay, to the minimum wage. (e.g., if they vote themselves a 10% pay raise, they must FIRST raise the minimum wage by 20%).
