In the last century, congress saw fit to regulate and limit the number of TV & Radio Stations and Newspapers any one company or person could control. The FCC has been charged with regulating Media and it seems that the FCC has abandoned that mandate and has failed the public good. A specific case in point; the Radio industry has become overleveraged and is failing, they have amassed massive debt, their audiences is fractured and ad dollars have moved to new media. This model of owning hundreds of radio stations has not only failed from a pure business standpoint but it’s eliminated competition, innovation, diversity of ideas and jobs as well as service to local communities. Media ownership needs to return to pre-Telecommunications Act caps. The benefit is jobs & diversity of opinions.
