The recent trend in violence towards U.S. Military members in locations such as Fort Hood, the Naval Yard, and the Marine Recruiting Office has made it painfully obvious that Military personnel and their families require defense both on and off duty, which we feel is at the present time being neglected.
We petition that all members of the United States Armed Forces currently sworn to the defense of our great nation will be granted a firearm at the expense of the Federal Government for personal defense of themselves, their families, and their fellow citizens, with full rights to carry said firearm or personally supplied equivalent at any and all times or locations, both private and federal, and both on and off duty, and to possess said firearm both during and after their terms of service.
