The "Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013" failed to pass with a vote of 54-46. This bill was created to provide background checks on individuals before guns are sold. This will help keep dangerous and mentally unstable people from gaining access to firearms, and in the end save many innocent lives and keep our country safe.
