Members of the House and senate not in leadership make $174,000 a year, and all members also receive benefits. On top of all this they get the ability to vote for their own raises. Members of congress are part time workers and many of them have other jobs. 174,00 a year is to much they should take a pay cut to $60,000 a year and can only be adjusted due to inflation or by a vote from their constituents.
