President Obama has said that he does not support the continued settlement of the West Bank, but these words ring hollow without concrete action to stop Israel.
The West Bank has pursued a more peaceful and diplomatic course for ending Israeli oppression, but without support from America they will continue to have their lands siphoned off and their appeal for UN recognition denied. If diplomacy fails, then violence is sure to follow. Israel seems far less enthusiastic about settling Gaza.
By supporting Israeli oppression of the Palestinian people, we are sending a message to the world. They see our hypocrisy and it fuels anti-American sentiment. If we support freedom and democracy, then we must support that right for all people of the Earth.
