The Code of Conduct for United States Judges, Cannon 5, states: "A Judge Should Refrain from Political Activity
(A) General Prohibitions. A judge should not:
. . .
(2) make speeches for a political organization or candidate, or publicly endorse or oppose a candidate for public office . . . "
Whether or not you agree with Justice Ginsburg's remarks about Donald Trump, Ginsburg's public opposition to Trump is a violation of Cannon 5. These rules need to apply to ALL judges and justices, or they are meaningless.
I do not call for Ginsburg's impeachment or removal - merely a public sanction.
