Bring a lawsuit against banks for " widespread fraud". The banks are being allowed to falsely tell customers; that they must default to obtain a modification, promising that the modifications would be made permanent if they complete a trial period only to renege on the deal, conjure bogus reasons for denying modifications, and assure customers that they would not be foreclosed upon while they were seeking loan modifications only to proceed with foreclosures anyways. There have also been instances where customers are sent offers to modify the mortgage payments and told that if all requirements are met and paid on time the loan would be modified and then later claim that the trial offer had been sent in error.
