Products are being imported into the U.S. at prices that are below U.S. manufacturer's raw materials cost. That means no amount of cost cutting, automation, or innovation can make us competitive.
In response, U.S. companies have been forced to move manufacturing overseas to remain competitive - losing us hundreds of thousands of jobs. Also, because small businesses in the US. can't compete, AND can't afford to move production overseas, they're forced out of business.Again, hundreds of thousands of jobs lost.
We need tariffs on these low-cost products to level the playing field, stop the fleecing of our economy, and generate much needed tax income.
