SAVE AMERICA'S POSTAL SERVICE Saturday Delivery Fix Pre-Funding Issues Post Offices/Plants Open Keep Delivery Standards

Created by C.K. on May 30, 2012

For two decades the USPS has delivered to all Americans as mandated by our Constitution.

Congress created the current financial issues when in 2006 they required the USPS to pre-fund retiree health benefits for 75 years (includes people not born yet). To meet this requirement the USPS must make $5.5 billion payments each year. NO other private or public entity in the country does this.

No drastic changes are needed. Delivery standards can be maintained six days a week. In fact the USPS should be allowed to grow and innovate to provide the products and services the American public and businesses want. The package delivery business is growing thanks to the internet and the USPS is the most economical and efficient way to go.

Congress made this mess. Congress can and should fix
