Save the Arts and Humanities Programs in all public schools in the United States.

Created by S.B. on April 23, 2013

Any time there have been budget cuts to public schools, it seems that the arts and humanities programs are always the first on the chopping block. School districts across the country are more willing to cut arts and humanities, which are part of the curriculum, than to cut extra-curricular sports programs. This has been especially troubling in light of the recent sequester. It is a proven scientific fact that children involved in the arts perform better academically than those who are not. If we truly want to see schools in the United States improve, we should not be cutting the arts and humanities. We can not wait until 2014 to vote out congress for this. Please sign an executive order that no arts and humanities program shall be cut unless sports programs are equally cut first.
