Bees are responsible for pollinating 30% of the food we eat and 90% of wild crops globally, but their numbers are decreasing exponentially. Colony Collapse Disorder has been occurring for decades, and although the European Union placed a 2-year temporary ban in 2013 on neonicotinoids, a pesticide that harms bees, not much has worked. Bees are vital to our ecosystem and agricultural system, so we urge the United States government to take action and ban these toxic insecticides that unintentionally harm bees. If we save the bees, they will save us.
