This petition is to send the Electoral College to the trash-heap of history where it belongs, and to restore democracy where one person's vote is equal to another. We have seen repeatedly where a person who receives the majority of the votes in a Presidential election is not declared the winner. We believe that the Vice-President as President of the Senate, is the only person permitted by the 12th Amendment to open and count the electoral certificates, thus has the constitutional power to declare the person who received the most votes to be President. This is a vital step when a foreign government has interfered in our election.
