Save Drive-In Movies by making digital projector updgrades free to ozoners, or face the loss of this American icon.

Created by J.E. on January 20, 2013

The Drive-In movie theater industry, which once numbered over 4,000 screens, has now been reduced to less than 400 nationwide. The movie industry has announced they will soon stop making film copies for distribution, instead they will be switching to digital distribution of their films. This means a costly upgrade that many drive-ins may ill afford. Going to a drive-in movie is an iconic and uniquely American experience. The White House should pressure Hollywood studios to make digital upgrades free to all drive-ins, otherwise there will be a drastic drop in drive-ins to the point that half of the U.S. may no longer have an ozoner in their state.
