Save the Endangered Species Act

Created by P.W. on August 22, 2014

Senate Bill 1731 would add clauses to the Endangered Species Act that would allow state Governors to keep the US Fish and Wildlife Service from listing any new species in their states and then require a joint resolution by congress to approve the listing. It further allows the governors of each state to choose what land is designated as critical habitat.

This will significantly weaken the ESA and allow species to go extinct at the will of the governor who's state controls its habitat. This act should not be allowed to pass.
