Save Endangered Species from Americans

Created by J.W. on August 01, 2015

We ask that the government expand the Endangered Species Act, or create a new act, to include worldwide threatened and endangered species in order to punish US citizens who traffic, kill, or otherwise harm them while abroad.

The death of Cecil the lion has brought this issue to a head with the public, though we who love animals and the preservation of threatened species have been fighting this fight a long time. In the last few weeks, we've seen an American kill a lion-- (population 25k – 30k, down from 250k in 1975) and we learned of him killing a white rhino (population 20k), a leopard (250k worldwide), and an African roan (75k, fully extinct in 2 African countries).

Walter Palmer is not alone.

Don't let Americans kill endangered species just because they're not at home.
