We need to make difficult choices about money. It should be impossible, not difficult, to choose to cut funding which supports life-saving development programs, funded by the International Affairs account.
Make the tough choices, and still choose to fund programs that fight HIV/AIDS, childhood diseases, and hunger. This isn't a discussion about percentages, this is a choice about life.
If we go over the fiscal cliff, and if all the cuts are to be equally applied, the impact for smaller programs is bigger, not equal, to that felt by larger programs.
Mr. President, tell Congress from us: protect the world's most vulnerable. Maintain the International Affairs account.
