Save the lives of thousands of Americans by banning the sale or transfer of vehicles that are capable of exceeding 85MPH

I propose to President Obama to use all the power that he holds to pursue banning the sale or transfer of any vehicle that is capable of exceeding 85MPH. The question: “Why would anyone need a vehicle that can surpass the highest speed limit in the nation” is easily answered, they DON’T. With my experience in public service I have seen the devastating effects of excessive speed when a traffic accident occurs. According to www.Census.gov statistics, 2009 recorded 30,797 traffic fatalities, other sources show 2011 at 32,267 fatalities. Many of these fatalities were due to excessive speed and include children as well as adults. This ban has the opportunity to save thousands of lives, and as we know, if it saves just one life it is worth it!
