Thousands of animals are surrendered a day to local animal shelters. But why? It isn't just because of the over population of animals, strays, and mean ones. What about the people that can't afford medical bills for their precious animals and have no choice but to surrender them in hopes that they will get treated? Recently my boyfriend and I had to take our "dog son" Bomber to the SPCA due to not being able to afford a surgery that was needed to take a tumor out of his intestine. No vet would help us, and surrendering was our only option. The SPCA used what they had in donation money to perform the surgery. Unfortunately Bomber didn't make it-but he could have if a vet or donation was set up to help families to help cover unexpected medical bills.
