As you are all aware the attacks which took place on December 14, 2012 were completely unjust and the work of a mentally sick individual. This event was and events like it, are impossible to prevent. Criminals do not follow laws, we know that. Hopefully...
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
I know it states a well armed militia, because of the time period it was written. Can we not agree that law abiding citizens are a "well armed militia" against an army that is criminals?
If you take a look at your FBI homicide chart you will see where rifles fall into that category. 323 homicides, physical beatings 726.
It's not the weapon, it's the people.
