I use a compounded topical cream for pain on my feet, shoulder, neck & low back. This cream has enabled me to keep doing my job for the last 5 years. Suddenly Express Scripts tells me that they will no longer cover it - shooting the cost from $35 to $150 every 60 days and I can no longer afford it. They tell me that they would cover the 5 pain ingredients in oral pill form but if I took that much oral pain medication, I would not be capable if driving or doing my job - not to mention the negative side effects of that much pain medication on my internal organs! It makes NO sense to take high risk oral medications when I can apply a side effect free topical medication! HELP - GIVE US BACK OUR COVERAGE FOR COMPOUNDED MEDICATIONS!
