Our post office is currently facing insolvency due to H.R. 6407, which requires them to pre-pay pensions for the next 75 years. This act has forced the post office to sell off many of its PUBLIC buildings which were built with PUBLIC money to the private sector. We must protect these treasures for our generation and generations to come.
Not only must we repeal H.R 6407, which is clearly designed to destroy the post office (they would have posted a $400 million profit instead of a loss), but we must prevent the sale of these historic buildings.
