USDA Secretary Vilsack and FS Chief Tidwell:
We ask you to preserve the health and wealth of our forests in accordance with the rules of the Organic Act and the Multiple Use. We want to preserve our National Forests for multi-use of 1) Water; 2) Wood; 3) Wildlife; 4) Grazing; 5) Recreation; 6) Wilderness. Multi-use does not include destroying old-growth oaks under toxic waste dumps and creating toxic pit lakes and sulfuric acid ponds, harmful to people and wildlife.
The new Planning Rule must stop hardrock mining in our forests. This action has to be taken by you to save local regional and district foresters from permitting devastation of our forests. For detailed information see: www.mining-law-reform.info/Forest-Planning-Rule-Comments.htm
Thanks you for "caring of the land."
