With the increase of media coverage into American affairs relating to gun violence, there have been calls for stronger regulation on guns/gun accessories. These include limiting the amount of magazines allowed in purchases, ban assault weapons, limit the capacity of the magazines purchased, limit availability of ammo, etc.
However, gun statistics are often misconstrued. The majority of gun related deaths are from suicide, followed by gang-on-gang violence where the majority of those involved can't legally possess guns to begin with. Moreover, gun free zones have a historically higher crime rate than areas that allow guns. Removing the civil liberties of Americans does not make the country safer. We ask the U.S Government to vow to abstain from future 2nd Amendment regulations.
