SAVE THE POST OFFICE

Created by H.C. on December 06, 2011

Preserve the United States Postal Service as a public institution. It provides efficient, low-cost mail service, and its budget crisis has been manufactured in an effort to force privatization. Turning the USPS over to profit-hungry corporations will only result in higher costs and worse mail service. We’re happy to save money and eliminate waste through reforms such as ending Saturday delivery, but firing postal workers and closing facilities in a deliberate effort to reduce the effectiveness of a government institution that serves the public well is counterproductive. Replacing well-paid postal workers with minimum-wage corporate employees will not save Americans money or result in better postal service. It will only speed our nation’s race to the bottom.
