Save Public School by Fixing the Budget and Addressing Immigration

Created by S.K. on November 13, 2012

Public schools have a fundamentally flawed budget that can be easily fixed. By adding a national and statewide tax on all retail items including food and grocery items. All people's who have filed a tax return in the previous year will receive a special bar code sticker to be placed on their state issued ID, which will allow them to be exempt upon checkout. This will create immediate revenue to be funneled directly to public education, by taxing citizens, non-citizens, and tourists, that do not pay taxes yet take advantage of free public services. This will also be a massive incentive for non-citizens to file for citizenship and begin paying taxes. It will also free up the tax burden on tax paying citizens for public schools by allowing budgetary restraints to be allocated for other needs.
