Jayne O'Donnell and Laura Ungar of USA TODAY have written an article on the plight of rural communities that have lost or are in danger of losing their only source of life-saving health care in the form of community hospitals.
An unintended consequence of the ACA has been to squeeze these essential services to the point that they can no longer stay open, leaving residents life-threatening distances away from urban centers with adequate emergency medical care.
Please amend the ACA or find another way to keep (or reopen) these vital rural services available.
