On September 26th, 2012, the government of Iran arrested American citizen Saeed Abedini as he was about to board a plane for home. His crime was that he was on a mission trip to Iran in support of local orphanages. He has previously started home churches in Iran and the Iranian government is not pleased with his faith in Jesus Christ, nor are they pleased with his work among the orphanages in communities that desperately need the help.
This petition is to encourage the President of the United States, Barack Obama, to use all means available to win the release of Saeed; diplomatic and otherwise. The United States of America should not sit idly by and watch as our citizens are being attacked abroad for one of the most fundamental human rights: freedom of religion.
