Save the Seeds. Establish and oversee program to send seeds from scraps to struggling farmers and low-income families.

Created by T.B. on August 06, 2013

How many times have we all enjoyed a pizza topped with an array of peppers or a fresh baked apple pie after throwing away the seeds, thinking of them as no more than waste? But in the earth they grow to provide fruits and give life-saving sustenance. With all the cheap and effective methods of farming and gardening these days (being a gardener myself I know after years of practice), not much should stop one from growing their own food, especially someone in need. Tomatoes, peppers, squashes, oranges, apples, peaches; these are just a few of the fruits that we eat in which we throw away the seeds. I petition that a program be established to where one simply save the seeds, dry them, store them, and eventually send them off to a distributer to give someone a future of food on their table.
