The USPS has been under attack from ALEC corporations aided by corrupt government officials for decades. They are piecemeal taking it apart under the guise of making it more efficient, aka outsourcing to private companies some of whom outsource to other countries like Mexico for cheaper labor. In 2006 GW Bush passed The Postal Service Enhancement and Accountability Act which did several things one of which put such a strain on the USPS, that they are going to cut back services and lay off Postal Service Workers adding even more Americans to the unemployment line. Forcing the USPS to make 5.5 Billion dollar payments into the pension fund for 10 years paying the entire pension liability 75 years into the future, forcing privatization and then outsourcing and killing American Jobs,
