After the 4 terms of Franklin D. Roosevelt congress, inorder to limit the power of a president, established term limits so no one individual could hold the highest office in the land and create his/her own agenda.
As the U.S. has grown older and expanded its influence throughout the world it has also become a victim of lobbyists, party favoritism, a body not of the people but of "The Lawyers," it has gone from representating the people to working for big business and themselves. It has gone from doing what "common sense" saids what's right to doing what make no sense.
The problem with congress is many have been there for over 20 years and see their office as an ownership than where the people have put them.
