Wolves in America are a symbol of freedom and of the wilderness. They are also under severe threats from unnecessary predator-control policies and land loss as well as poaching/sport hunting. We need policies that will protect wolves, not make it legal to kill them to increase game populations. In Alaska, wolves are being shot down from helicopters as part of predator-control programs with no solid research behind them. We need to stop these killings before wolf populations drop so much that they can't recover.
