Save the women of Afghanistan!

Created by V.N. on October 11, 2011

The taliban had taken control of all the women in Afghanistan since 1996. Women are forced to wear a burqa in public, not go out unless with a male chaperone and are forbidden to speak loudly in public. They cannot be educated no more than the age of 8 and are forbidden to work, It is said that 80% of marriages were by force. They faced public flogging and execution for violations of the Taliban's laws. Cosmetics such as nail varnish and make-up were prohibited. The women would also face severe punishment if they didnt listened to what the taliban requested, Once there was a woman that had her thumb cut off for wearing nail varnish. The taliban's treatment of women is disgusting and inacceptable. Therefore we should act today! As all women across the world deserve freedom and justice.
