Saving Johnson Valley ORV designated area from military use and negating a widely used recreation area for families.

Created by M.P. on February 02, 2013

I would like to petition our government to not convert a portion of the Johnson Valley ORV area, Southern Caifornia, to miliary exercises. This area has long been the recreational playground for the high density populations of LA and environs to recreate. Use is mainly by middle class families that need such an area to ride, camp, hike, explores and for BLM-sanctioned racing events.
Allowing the Marines access for maneuvers would essentially negate most, if not all of the uses noted above.
The ORV community has lost much of the desert to preserved areas to the military. Additionally, this would have a very adverse effect on millions of dollars spent annually by ORV participlants in the great Johnson Valley/Victor Valley area.
