As a soldier and father of four, I submit this petition to gather support and propose we post uniformed National Guard outside our public schools.
School doors locked with exit only locks.
Metal detectors outside school - not inside.
Guardsmen teach gun safety classes to students and teachers. Education is key as a deterrent, and gun safety should be taught at an early age at a formal public setting.
Guardsmen can check and secure all delivery vehicles.
Guardsmen can be made aware of all early drop-offs and pick-ups and parents can be given a security code.
These steps will provide our children with a plan for safety that can be implemented almost immediately and at a state level.
