Regarding the recent USPS rate hikes effective 1/27/13, American's are only being told about a 1 cent stamp increase. Meanwhile, the first class international rate for a 5oz. package shipped to Canada has risen 114% ($3.60 up to $7.70). It has risen 95% for a 3oz. package to the UK or Australia ($4.56 up to $8.88). Similar increases apply to all other countries worldwide.
Many U.S. small businesses ship small, inexpensive items to buyers around the world. These rate increases have greatly reduced their global sales as they can no longer compete with international sellers, thus eliminating what was once a booming segment of the U.S. economy.
These extreme rate increases need to be scaled back before U.S. global e-commerce is irreparably damaged. Please sign today!
