Scale elected official pay to that of the median income of the average 4 person family to increase efficiency.

I believe scaling the salary of any elected official, who is above the national median income, would offer incentive for them to reach across the isle and create a bipartisan solution to our current economic situation. This precedent should be looked at any time we are deemed to be in a recession, and repeatedly set in motion as needed.This is not a proposed fix to our debt, simply a way of telling our elected officials that if they do not abide by their end of the "social contract", then neither shall we. We do not pay their salaries via taxes to watch talking heads squabble over faction agenda. It is disgusting that our officials do not share in our turmoil.
