Cell phone searched by schools need to stop. They should have to get a warrant to do so. School administrators abuse the right to do so and humiliate kids by going through texts, emails, photos, social media and any other content. The phone is not property of the school, they have no business looking through it. Lockers, desks, school devices, sure, they belong to the school but not personal property of students. Most administrators don't have good reasons for going through these phones anyway and sometimes, no reason at all! John F. Kennedy high school in Bellmore, NY has been known for searching phones with no probable cause by administrators. They searched a students phone after he got assaulted to make sure he had no video. No action was taken against the administrators unfortunately!
