School dress codes are very debatable when it comes to women's attire. For example, girls are not allowed to wear straps thinner than 1.5 inches because it is distracting. If my shoulder is distracting a child, and hindering his/hers ability to learn, then we as teachers, parents, administration, and role models have failed. If a student is not mature enough to be in a class with a girls shoulder showing, then should they be able to drive? Can they be held responsible for something so big? They couldn't even focus in class because my shoulder was a distraction.
