Science Matters: Double the NIH Budget

Created by J.F. on April 25, 2015

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the largest source of funding for medical research in the world. NIH has funded a combined 145 Nobel Prize winners, and their research has led to some of the greatest scientific achievements and medical discoveries in world history.

NIH funded research has contributed to our ability to prevent and control everything from cancer, heart disease, and diabetes to HIV, malaria, and Ebola.

In spite of the essential role NIH plays in advancing the health and future of the America people, NIH has been hampered by budgetary constraints that have slowed the pace of scientific achievement.

Some things are worth the money. Science matters. Help us put science back where it belongs. Let's double the NIH budget.
