Scientific Research Funding to the NIH and other research institutes should be re-instated with no further cuts approved

Created by J.F. on September 19, 2013

Research funding is very critical to the advancement and discovery in science. With the recent budget cuts especially after the sequestration earlier this year, many academic researchers at the NIH and medical institutions around the country are finding it very difficult to sponsor for their research projects. They also struggle with maintaining some of their finest laboratory technicians as well as giving the opportunity for new college graduates to work in their laboratories. The budget crisis back in 2011 did not only hurt scientists around the country but also patients who indirectly depended on researchers to find groundbreaking cure for their illnesses. It will be unwise to be comfortable with the status quo. It is time for the government to act to re-instate the funding for research
